Experience a great British summer school on your doorstep in Athens!

Help your child discover a different world with our World Explorer Summer School. Join us and your child will explore the world and visit some amazing countries, learning a little bit about the natural world, art, history and sports on their journey.

With their World Explorer Passport, your child will:

  • be led by amazing explorers in art, sport, science, history and geography
  • discover a different world through a wide variety of creative and fun activities
  • take part in expeditions on field trips and (not so) far-away seas
  • become a true explorer of the English language.

Our World Explorer Summer School is the gateway to the world of discovery.

The British Summer School in Athens 2017:

  • is designed by teachers of I.M.Panagiotopoulos School in collaboration with British Council teachers
  • is aimed at children aged 5 to 12
  • will take place from 19 June to 14 July 2017 at I.M.Panagiotopoulos School in Pallini
  • includes transfers for your children on school buses
  • will run Monday to Friday from 08.30 to 14.40 and offers an optional child-care programme from 14.40 to 16.40, which includes lunch and transportation to and from central pick-up points.

The programme includes the following strands:

STEM Explorer

Children will observe and discover the world around them through Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths topics.

Sports Explorer

Children will explore and learn different sports from various countries.

Art Explorer

Children will have the opportunity to explore various cultures and ages via Art and Craft.

Role-play Explorer

Through myths from around the world, children will explore the world of theatre and do fun drama activities.

Beach Day Explorer and Field Trip Explorer

Beach Day Explorer and Field Trip Explorer will be an extension of classroom activities in a natural environment. Children will enjoy team-building activities such as team water sports and outdoor games.

Our Beach Day is planned in accordance with national and UK guidelines regarding the protection of the health and safety of your children.

Optional child-care programme

The optional child-care programme runs Monday to Friday from 14.40 to 16.40, and includes lunch and transportation to and from central pick-up points.

  • Four-week programme: €200
    The full amount is payable by Friday 9 June 2017.
  • Two-week programme: €110
    The full amount is payable by Friday 9 June 2017.

How to register

  1. Complete the online registration form and pay the deposit. The remainder of the fee must be paid by Friday 9 June 2017.
  2. You can pay the deposit/fee in the following ways:

    Quote your child’s name followed by BSS (for ‘British Summer School’) in the ‘Αιτιολογία’

General conditions

  • We reserve the right not to open a class with fewer than 18 students.
  • Normally the maximum number of students in a class will not exceed 20.
  • Refunds are not available.
