Athens Jazz is celebrating 25 years on the city’s music scene and returns with a major anniversary celebration that serves not simply as a retrospective, but as a dynamic affirmation of its ongoing presence and evolution.

From 25 to 31 May 2026, Technopolis City of Athens will be filled with music, rhythm and energy that have shaped the city’s pulse for 25 years, and, as always, entry is free of charge. Over the course of a week, artists and ensembles from Greece and abroad will take to the Technopolis stage to showcase some of the most exciting voices in contemporary jazz, while a range of parallel events will further enrich the festival experience.

On Wednesday 27 May at 23.00, the Athens Jazz evening concludes with the British artist Alabaster DePlume. With a fragile, almost trembling saxophone and a narrative that does not hide behind orchestral tricks, DePlume builds a cross-genre sonic universe that fluctuates between introspective spiritual jazz and dark and vulnerable folk.

About Alabaster DePlume

Alabaster DePlume is a Manchester-born, London-based saxophonist, poet, composer and activist known for his deeply emotive sound and disarmingly intimate performances. Blending jazz with spoken word, folk influences and experimental textures, his work explores themes of vulnerability, community and social responsibility. As a bandleader and collaborator, he has cultivated a distinctive practice rooted in empathy and collective expression, inviting audiences into moments of reflection and shared humanity.
