The British Council and the Athens International Film Festival are joining forces once again and taking part in Athens Pride. With the support of the British Embassy, we are delighted to invite you to a series of free online screenings that will introduce talented and brave queer voices from the British short film scene to Greek audiences.
Organised in association with BFI Flare, Fresh Flare is a British Council international touring programme which takes us on a journey across the UK and beyond, from urban sprawls to rolling rural landscapes, from towering penthouses to crumbling housing estates, and through churches, night clubs, swimming pools and hair salons. It is a journey from oppression and shame toward liberation, celebration and acceptance. Though the journey is not always easy, the films in the programme celebrate how far we have come, the distance we still have to travel, and the importance of freedom and inclusion for LGBTQ+ people not only across the UK, but throughout the world.
