We offer IELTS in Athens and Thessaloniki twice a month throughout the year, and also in Heraklion Crete, Ioannina, Patra and Volos on specified dates, which are announced at the beginning of each year.
As there is a limited number of places for all sessions, we recommend that you register five weeks before your chosen test date, however, places may be available after this date. Check the Online Registration System for live information.
Your Listening, Reading and Writing tests will take place on the same day. Speaking tests are scheduled to take place the week before the written examinations. For candidates from towns in the provinces (based on the full postal address provided), the speaking test will be scheduled on the same day as the written examinations.
Note: Speaking tests are scheduled to take place up to 20.00 on the day of the written exams. Please make your travel arrangements accordingly.
Step 1: Book a place
Book a place using our Online Registration System.
Please note that you can now upload an electronic colour copy of your identification document to our Online Registration System. Download the instructions on uploading documents to the Online Registration System (PDF, 569 kb).
Ensure that you have an electronic colour copy of the identification document (National ID for EU citizens or Passport for Non-EU citizens) you plan to use when registering online. Please note you have to provide the same document on the day of the examination.
If you register online but do not upload an electronic colour copy of your identification document to our Online Registration System, you must send us a copy of the document within three calendar days of registering. Scan the identification document you used to register, save it as a .jpeg file no larger than 3 MB and email it to the centre where you are applying to take the IELTS test:
- Athens: firstname.lastname@example.org
- Thessaloniki: email@example.com
- Write your full name and the date of the test session you have chosen in the subject line.
- Use this format for saving the file: (name)_(family name)_(session date).jpg
Alternatively, you can send a copy of your identification document to the centre through which you will be taking IELTS (Athens or Thessaloniki – see below for contact details) by post. We recommend that you use an express postal service.
Please note that photographs are no longer required for registration.
